Stretch Tents set up at Showmans Show

Two stretch tents were put up by our partners Intent at this week’s Showman’s Show.  We had one up housing the real ale style bar that was premiered by Eagle Bars at Leicester’s Summer Sundae Festival.  We will be working closely with Eagle Bars next summer as we take their niche festival tailored bars into this new area of their growing business.

Setting up Intent at Showmans

The second Intent was for the Entertee event fencing company. They had one of Intent’s stylish new silver models. Looking forward to showing that off in 2011.

The weather was superb for the Showmans with blue skies and cold northerly breeze.  It was the usual over abundance of white uPVC marquee fodder, toilet, generator hire. Great to see the random mad showcase there. This years odd place probably goes to the three camels going round with grumpy looking wise men on!!

Stretching out at Worthy Farm

2 weeks of fabulous weather made for a great time at Glastonbury Festival’s 40th birthday. Intents stretch look was a big part of the Glade area’s visual appeal with three chino stretchies creating a lovely space around the seating area. This made for a much better area than last years which, with no seating area, became a muddy walk through to the Other stage.

Glade Lounge with Intent 25x14m, Glastonbury 2010

On Thursday night only having a few areas open the Glade area was rammed with 3000 people in a football pitch sized area. It was madness , scarey and fun. The Intent survived one reveller climbing to the top of the main pole and swinging about til removed by security. People were keen to party and release the pent up emotion.

November Nights

The night time is ascendant at the moment and the days are short.  We have still been out and about. We did a lovely party down in Somerset for a 40th Birthday / Halloween celebration.  The band ‘The Mad Cows’, a Glastonbury Festival favourite, wowed the crowd with their great feel good music. The interaction with the crowd , which included an improvised start to the set with a song using a throwaway comment from one of the audience, was a joy to hear. Well worth seeing or booking for a gig.

Bonfire night saw us in the Cotswolds in the scenic environs of Stow On The Wold. We provided a yurt , a disco, laser lighting and glamping for a group of 12-13 year olds celebrating a birthday.

Stretch Tent Development in the Sahara

Over The Moon have been out in the Sahara doing an Overland trip in our Land Rover 130 work vehicle.  We took the opportunity to take along a 6x8m Intent and look at developing it for the Overland vehicle market.  We got some very positive feedback from vehicle owners and will be suggesting some feature enhancements to Intent manufacturing back home in South Africa to cater for this growing market.

Weight has to be kept to a minimum for Overlanding in dunes so we took no ground stakes and utilised the roof racks and jerry cans we already had with us.  We also experimented with light weight poles.
