Patting dogs, Wood Green Animal Shelter

Delighted to be back on a sunny day outside Ely Cathedral. It’s our fifth year supporting Wood Green Animal Shelter. They are using our Party Tent to promote their charitable work. Also here are lots of Pat dogs , who go into hospitals to meet the poorly and bring some comfort.

Ha, ha . We were chuffed to come across this clip of our tent hosting a electro swinging performance of the Correspondants at the Secret Garden Party in 2007.

US Military solar powered stretch tent

We were pleased to be sent a link, from one of our clients, to this article about the US military developing stretch tent looking solar powered canopies. These tents would be popular at many of the green minded festivals if the technology goes commercial. Like the internet, mobile phones and the myriad other products this would be another example of military technology having great benefit for non-military users.

New To Camping Event at Warwick Castle

We provided a Merlin tent for an event at Warwick Castle this week. The Camping & Caravanning Club were running an event ‘New To Camping’ which featured a range of equipment manufacturers displaying equipment and talks from their president David Bellamy. Our Merlin Medieval pavilion tent was in the right setting and was featured in an article the club was producing for its August issue

It was a lovely summer day and ideal for being in the great outdoors. Warwick Castle has some marvellous exhibits, I particularly liked the ‘Kingmaker’ tour of rooms recreating life in the castle on the eve of a battle in the 14th Century , it was very evocative. Warwick Castle have many authentic tents manufactured by the same company that made our Medieval Pavilion tents. These tents are dotted around the site and are used to add colour, create the scene and used as concession stands.
